Most people leave money on the table because the grant rules are confusing. We explain which scheme fits your property before you get a single quote, so every installer prices the same thing.
Grant amounts change. Always confirm the current rates with SEAI (01 808 2100) or DAFM before you sign.

Get startedCall 089 450 4544Solar panels in Ireland: common questions
Do solar panels work in Irish weather?
Yes. Panels produce power from daylight, not heat, so they still generate on cloudy days, just less than in bright sun. Ireland's long summer days make up for a lot of the grey weather.
How much do solar panels cost in Ireland?
It depends on system size, roof, battery and the installer. Our solar cost guide explains typical price ranges and what changes them. Grants then reduce the price you pay.
Is Solar123 an installer?
No. We're an independent advisory and quote-matching service. Installation is carried out by SEAI-registered installers, and you choose who you go with.
Do I need planning permission?
Most homes are exempt for rooftop panels, and there are exemptions for many farm and business roofs too, with conditions. We'll flag anything that applies to your property.
Is a battery worth it?
For many homes using a lot of power in the evening, or on a night-rate tariff, yes. For others, exporting surplus power pays better. See our battery advice.
Does it cost anything to use Solar123?
No. Advice and quote matching are free for homeowners and businesses, with no obligation to go ahead.
